Scientificcommittee

The Scientific Committee has two main missions: to support and guide research at Sciences Po Lyon, and to monitor the careers of lecturer-researchers.

The Scientific Committee plays a central role in discussing, planning and funding research within the Institute, both independently and in partnership with the laboratories to which Sciences Po Lyon’s lecturers are attached, and as part of the scientific policy of the University of Lyon.

It provides financial support for the research activities of the institution’s tenured lecturers, emeritus lecturers and doctoral students. The Scientific Commission also funds Sciences Po Lyon’s own research projects.

Sciences Po Lyon, in partnership with the CHELS institutions, supports the scientific and cultural initiatives of students and doctoral candidates. These initiatives are funded by the Scientific Commission.

The Scientific Committee also monitors the careers of the Institute’s teacher-researchers. In particular, it gives its opinion on :

  • Proposals for the recruitment of ATERs, PASTs and PIs;
  • The recruitment of part-time lecturers working more than 20 hours a week;
  • Applications for tenure and grading;
  • Applications for doctoral supervision and research grants (PEDR);
  • Applications for research and thematic conversion leave (CRCT);
  • Applications for emeritus status.

In 2020, €40,500 was allocated to the Scientific Commission to support the research activities of lecturers and doctoral students at Sciences Po Lyon.
