Area studyprogrammes

Sciences Po Lyon stands out from other institutes thanks to its strong international ties, as exemplified by its institute diplomas (Diplôme d’Établissement – DE) and combined degree programmes with international partners.

The combined degree programmes can be followed in parallel with the classic degree programme. On the Saint-Étienne campus, students can choose between a combined degree in economy & management at the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises (IAE), or a combined degree in law at the Saint-Étienne Jean-Monnet University Faculty of Law.

Students who want an international specialisation can take one of the seven Institute Diplomas focused on a particular geographical region. The Institute Diplomas are unique to Sciences Po Lyon. They are optional and run in parallel with the classic degree programme, in years 1 and 2. Institute Diploma classes can be chosen by exchange students when selecting their modules. These allow students to specialise in a specific geographical region (culture, history, economy, etc.) and to learn the language.

There are 7 Institute Diplomas. These focus on Europe (DEEE), Asia (DEMEOC), the Arab World (DEMAC), Latin America and the Caribbean (DEALC), the United States of America (DELUSA), Sub-Saharan Africa (DEASC) and, lastly, Contemporary Russia (DERUSCO).
