The third year of study completes the undergraduate cycle of the degree programme at Sciences Po Lyon. This year of compulsory study abroad allows students to experience different methods of working and thinking while developing foreign language skills.

There are two ways of doing it:

• Either a full year of study in a partner university (2 or 3 semesters depending on the destination)
• Or a combined period with one semester of study in a partner university and a placement semester of 4 to 6 months.

With around 170 international agreements in place across the world, Sciences Po Lyon offers students exchange opportunities in 53 countries during this year abroad.

There is also a chance to study abroad during the 5th year, notably for students opting for the combined degree programme with the Hong Kong Baptist University (China) or Loughborough University (United Kingdom).
