Researchstrategy

Research plays a central role at Sciences Po Lyon: it feeds into our teaching, is at the heart of our partnerships with local institutions and foreign universities and nurtures our exchanges with local authorities and civil society.

The work and publications of our research professors are listed in the yearbook  and in Sciences Po Lyon HAL collection.

As part of its commitment to training through and for research, our school rewards the research work of its 4th year students through a dissertation prize, the winners of which are published elsewhere.

The school has four research laboratories (Triangle, Institut d’Asie Orientale, ELICO and Cercrid) to which most of the school’s tenured lecturers are attached. Depending on their disciplines and specialities, our research professors may also belong to other laboratories (Lahra, Laet, Magellan).

The Institute is a supervisory body of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme, which supports or initiates interdisciplinary research programmes and provides the scientific community with a range of resources and support services.

Sciences Po Lyon is a member of 4 GIS – the Institut des Amériques, the GIS EuroLab, the GIS Moyen Orient et Mondes musulmans and the GIS Asie – and a partner in two laboratories of excellence (LabEx): ‘Intelligence des mondes urbains’ (IMU) and ‘Constitution de la modernité : raison, politique, religion’ (COMOD) in association with the UDL.

Research at Sciences Po Lyon also feeds into the work carried out by the ‘Transformations de l’action publique’ chair and the Public Factory.
